Doodling out a dream about lions and got carried away. Done in Painter and sharpened it with PS. Cheers!

Leyendecker Study 01

First post for 2011!

A J. C. Leyendecker study, from one of his Saturday Evening Post covers.

I plan on doing more of these and most probably from other artists too. Done in Corel Painter. I'm finally getting the hang of it. It took me some time to decide which brushes I'll be using the most, which is kinda the reason why I haven't posted anything new lately. I had to try them all, figure out how to tweak them, and to establish a  work flow when I'm using Painter.

Cheers and a Happy New Year!

So here's another fanart that got buried somewhere and I never got to finish it until now. This was started as a sketch right after I got to watch How to Train Your Dragon about a month ago and it's now at the very top of my list of favorite animated films ever.
